How to distinguish professional membership, fellow status and examination-based hair-restoration credentials.
Why the exact wording matters
‘Member,’ ‘Fellow’ and ‘Diplomate’ are not interchangeable. Hair Doctors Turkey stores each accepted credential as a distinct value and displays only the status supported by the issuing organization or its current directory. A clinic biography is a useful lead, but it is not the final authority for an active credential.
ISHRS membership and FISHRS fellow status
ISHRS is an international professional society in hair restoration. A person can appear as a member without holding FISHRS fellow status. FISHRS is a separate recognition and should be shown only where the society’s record supports the fellow designation. Past attendance at an ISHRS meeting or faculty participation does not automatically prove current membership.
ABHRS Diplomate
ABHRS describes Diplomate certification as requiring training, post-training experience and successful written and oral examinations. The organization also asks diplomates to use the wording ‘ABHRS Diplomate’ accurately. The directory therefore does not shorten every related certificate or logo into a Diplomate badge.
Membership is not an outcome guarantee
A verified credential is useful professional context, not proof that a particular treatment plan is suitable or that a result is guaranteed. It should be read alongside medical education, formal specialty, current practice, operative role and case-specific consultation.
How the directory handles uncertainty
If no accepted credential is verified, the profile says so rather than displaying a question-mark badge for each organization. That statement does not mean the doctor belongs to no professional associations. It means the current evidence does not support one of the directory’s defined hair-restoration credentials.
Use it to organize research and questions for a named physician. It does not diagnose hair loss, determine candidacy or replace informed consent and an individual medical consultation.
